| Local air quality was monitored in Francis Street, Yarraville for 142 days from late March to early August 2002. The same site was monitored during a comparable, but shorter period in 2001. Overall, the particle concentrations in 2002 were lower than those in 2001. The lower particle concentrations measured at Francis Street during July 2002 compared to July 2001 are most likely to be influenced by different weather conditions, in particular wind speed, rather than the effect of the truck curfew introduced in April 2002. | |
